Description:

Jesus turns to the familiar biblical metaphor of Light to consummate our discussion of spiritual warfare and His Cosmic Initiative to liberate His "Bride" from the forces of evil. In the process He will reveal the heavenly formula for both salvation and sanctification. We will carefully define the meaning of "light" and the various metaphors and similes Jesus uses to vividly make His point. We will pay particular attention to the subtle difference in the interpretation of "the eye" when applied to either the redeemed or unregenerate soul. We will consider the devastating effect that spiritual darkness has upon both the unbeliever (leading to damnation) as well as the believer (leading to stagnation). Ultimately we will realize that for all people, Jesus' pithy words stand as a comprehensive formula for spiritual survival, as if to say: "The darkness breeds destruction. Pursue the Light and live!"
